About the Author

Deepak Sharma is the Managing Director/Co-founder of DSharma CPA Professional corporation and a professor at Humber college. Deepak’s academic background includes a B. Comm with a major in accounting, an MBA, and a CPA, CGA designation. Deepak’s 15 years of diverse experience working in industry and 10 years of teaching experience have helped him bring forward new techniques to help students and his clients. He brings his experiences and techniques to continuously improve the textbook not only to help students and professors to make the textbook a great resource to learning, but also connect students with real life examples that they will face in the industry working as accountants.

Kerri Simich is a full-time professor at Niagara College and has been since 2011. She is currently the coordinator for the Accounting Programs at the college. Kerri’s academic background includes a degree in Accounting Science from the University of Calgary, an MBA from Laurentian University, and an Accounting Business Administration Diploma and a Teaching Adults Certificate from Niagara College.  Kerri holds a CPA, CGA designation and served as a CEDP (College Educator Development Program) Facilitator for five years. She is also the Faculty Advisor for the Niagara College Accounting Association; a student-focused club. As an accountant, Kerri believes that professional development is key to success and she strives to be on top of changes, challenges, and patterns in the field. Prior to becoming a professor, Kerri worked in both the private and public sectors in accounting.
