About the Author

Lisa Salem-Wiseman has worked in higher education for over 25 years. In her 21 years at Humber Polytechnic, Lisa has held various roles including professor, program coordinator, and associate dean. She currently holds the role of Special Advisor, Humber Learning Outcomes. Lisa is a member of the EDI Task Force, serves as co-facilitator of the Sustainability Steering Committee and The Unlearning Circle.

Sobia Zaman is a professor in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Science and Innovative Learning at Humber Polytechnic. In her almost 20 years at Humber, Sobia’s focus on academic writing, communication, content creation, and critical analysis has helped students develop into proficient and effective communicators across a variety of disciplines.
